The Black Sorrows shared some devastating news on social media on Friday (4 July), reporting that Joe Camilleri’s vintage guitar collection and other items had been stolen from his home in country Victoria.

Nine of Camilleri’s vintage guitars were stolen, including a 1975 Fender Stratocaster, a 1990s Gretsch Rock Jet Black, five vintage Gibson guitars, and more. Other items stolen included his passport, Apple iMac and Apple laptops. You can see the list of stolen guitars below.

“Joe’s home in the country was burgled this afternoon,” the band and Camilleri shared on Facebook and Instagram. “His prized guitar collection was stolen along with personal papers, including his passport, Apple iMac, Apple laptops and other household items.

“We’re asking the music fraternity to share this and let your local guitar resellers know. These are distinct instruments and will be difficult to off-load. Photos representative serial numbers documented.”

They join country and rock royalty in the Zac Brown Band, Jackson Dean, James Reyne, Kasey Chambers, Daryl Braithwaite, Casey Barnes, Beccy Cole, James Johnston, and many more.

“Any time you have got Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows rolling into town, you know you are in for something great,” said James Dein, Festival Director of Savannah In The Round. “They have shaped the sound of Australian music, and we can’t wait to have them back on Savannah’s main stage.”

The blues rockers are next set to perform at The Art House in Wyong on 29 August. They’ll continue to tour throughout the rest of the year.
