The Bend Classic, South Australia’s home of country music, has expanded with the addition of the one and only Kasey Chambers.

The Not Pretty Enough singer will return to the festival this October, with organisers describing her as their Homecoming Queen. She joins an already impressive three-day program of live country music, cars, and camping on Friday, 24 October, to Sunday, 26 October, at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.

“I’m looking forward to hitching up the caravan and heading back to one of my favourite gigs to play in South Australia – The Bend Classic,” Chambers commented in a statement. “I can’t wait to play all my old favourites to the country music fans from all over my home state who come together for this great event. See ya there!”

In June, The Bend Classic announced its line-up of Australian and New Zealand country music stars, which includes Casey Barnes, Kaylee Bell, The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, rockers Kingswood, and Max Jackson.

In addition to the acts mentioned above, The Bend Classic has partnered with the South Australian Music Development Office to showcase emerging country artists from across the state. Those artists include The Flying Squad, Nancy Bates, Scott Rathman Jnr, and Brad Chicken & The Bootstraps.

An accessible and affordable weekend of enjoying music, cars, and camping, tickets to The Bend Classic are on sale now. Prices start at $49, and children under the age of 15 can attend the event for free. You can find more details on The Bend Classic’s website.

Discussing the opportunity for local artists to perform at the upcoming event, the South Australian Minister for the Arts Andrea Michaels said, “The Malinauskas Government is proud to support The Bend Classic to provide an opportunity for some of our state's emerging country musicians to take to the stage and perform in front of thousands of people alongside legendary Australian country artists like Kasey Chambers and Casey Barnes at this event.

“The Bend Classic demonstrates perfectly how arts and culture go hand in hand with major sporting events; it's going to be an extraordinary weekend.”

Shell V-Power Motorsport Park CEO Alistair MacDonald added, “The Bend Classic is building year-on-year with our country music theme. A passion of our directors is investing in local talent, and working with the Music Development Office, we are looking forward to providing an opportunity for some of our local emerging artists to play alongside the greats.”
