Good news for Zach Bryan today: no charges will be laid against the country music superstar following his sudden arrest in September 2023.

TMZ and Rolling Stone reported that Bryan was arrested in Oklahoma last September on charges of “obstruction of investigation.” He was released on bail the same day.

Three days before his arrest, he was pulled up in a routine traffic stop in Verdigris. Bryan was informed that he was speeding (News 9 reports that he was “going 68 in a 50” zone). When the police officer asked Bryan if the address on his ID was correct, he said it wasn’t and felt uncomfortable sharing where he lived.

“Listen, just because you are a famous musician doesn't mean you can deny information,” the officer reportedly told Bryan, per News 9.

The Something In The Orange singer answered, “Give me a ticket or take me to jail, please.”

The officer let him off with a warning.

Three days later, in Vinita, Bryan’s security guard was pulled over for speeding, and the singer—in a separate vehicle—approached the police officer for a conversation, making the traffic stop. He was arrested for “obstruction of investigation” after refusing to get back into his truck.

After being released on bail, Bryan apologised to the police officers and troopers and his fans.

Following the arrest, Bryan entered a Deferred Prosecution Agreement in May 2024, which ended on Thursday (14 November).

The District Attorney stated that there had been “no violations,” meaning that Bryan had completed his deferred agreement and wouldn’t face charges.

The news arrives a week after Bryan revealed his plans to quit music to pursue a Master’s degree. Last week, he also surprise released two new songs, The World’s A Giant and High Road.
