Canadian country-rockers Jason McCoy and Clayton Bellamy, of The Road Hammers fame, have teamed up with fellow artist Dan Davidson and Calgary-based music executive and philanthropist Craig Senyk to launch a new label, Skysong Records.
In Australia and New Zealand, the brand-new label has exclusively partnered with ABC Music for releases and The Orchard for worldwide distribution.
Dan Davidson leads the label’s first-ever release, dropping the catchy new single Buckle Rubbin’ on 7 July. Skysong Records will make more announcements about new music in the coming months – check out the website for more information.
Skysong Records is a label built by artists for artists. It champions originality, personality, and independence. It operates with a “collaborative model” that puts musicians first and looks ahead to a legacy of becoming a home to bold artists from Canada and beyond.
Label co-founder Clayton Bellamy said of Skysong Records, “A ‘sky song’ is a musical inspiration that drops out of the sky. Skysong Records is a representation of that inspiration that we want to pass on to our artists.”
Fellow co-founder Jason McCoy added, “Skysong Records was born from a shared dream between three artists who’ve dedicated their lives to this industry—not just making music, but learning, listening, and evolving alongside it.

“Skysong is a label built by artists, for artists—a creative home where voices are heard, stories are honoured, and talent is nurtured. We’re here to spotlight the very best this country has to offer and help bring that talent to the world stage.”
ABC Music is home to artists such as Seaforth, Tyla Rodrigues, Max Jackson, Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, Emmagen Rain, Andrew Swift, Melanie Dyer, Gretta Ziller, Caitlyn Shadbolt, and many others.
Last year, Dan Davidson signed with ABC Music in order to expand his career in Australia, calling the land Down Under his “country music home away from home.”
On signing with ABC Music, Davidson said, “I am so very excited to be working with the ABC Music team!
“Australia has become my country music home away from home over these last few years; having a team there to help support me just solidifies my commitment to getting in front of Aussie country music fans as much as I possibly can. Jenny [Peachey, ABC Country Label Manager], Natalie [Waller, Head of ABC Music] and the team are incredible at what they do; this is just the start of a great ride together!”
