The first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards (not to be confused with the usual People’s Choice Awards) has revealed its nominees for its inaugural award ceremony, and it’s unsurprisingly dominated by superstar Morgan Wallen.
Airing on the 28th of September on the US network NBC and streaming platform Peacock, Wallen has been nominated in a whopping 11 categories as Lainey Wilson and Luke Combs also racked up a considerable amount of nods.
As Billboard notes, Wallen’s record-breaking album, One Thing At A Time, has been nominated for Album Of The Year, as four singles – Last Night, You Proof, Thought You Should Know, and Thinkin’ About Me have been nominated in multiple categories.
The People’s Choice Country Awards is a fan-voted ceremony that will take place in Nashville. Elsewhere in the nominations list, Combs and Hardy are up for nine awards, Jelly Roll has been nominated for eight, while Lainey Wilson is the most-nominated woman, receiving seven nominations. You can find the full list of nominees below, per People and Taste Of Country.
Little Big Town will host the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards, while also being up for the Group/Duo of 2023 award. On the night, Blake Shelton will present Toby Keith with the first-ever Country Music Icon Award. More honorary awards will be handed out on the evening.
If you’re in the US, you can vote for your favourite country artists here until Friday, 25 August. Unfortunately, Australian country music fans aren’t eligible to vote in the People’s Choice Country Awards.
