Music legend Lucinda Williams will perform a one-off headline show while she’s supporting Paul Kelly in Australia next month.
The concert will take place on Sunday, 31 August, at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. Her first headline performance at the iconic venue, Williams and her band will present a special night that spans music, memoir, legacy, and resilience.
The show is titled “Lucinda Williams and her band, Don’t Tell Anybody The Secrets – a very special night featuring songs, stories & visuals.” It will offer an event that’s “part concert, part reading, part cinematic memoir,” where Williams will blend live performance with visuals and passages from her memoir.
One of America’s most celebrated songwriters, Williams and her band will take the audience on a journey through her life, from growing up in the South to finding fame with 1998’s Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. She will also take fans through heartbreaks and musical milestones, such as collaborating with Bruce Springsteen and Margo Price.
The performance marks Williams’ sole headline performance in Australia while she’s here, opening shows for Paul Kelly.
Presented by Frontier Touring, pre-sale tickets will be available to members on Wednesday, 23 July, at 11 am AEST, followed by the general sale on Thursday, 24 July, at 12 pm AEST. You can find tickets on the Frontier Touring website.
