Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes sign to Social Family Records & release new single I Went Down

First reported by The Music Network, alt-country rockers Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes have signed to Social Family Records ahead of the release of their new single I Went Down; a brooding return to storytelling for the Melbourne trio.

Signing is a natural next step for the trio and label after spending the last year together distributing records including The Road and You Remind Me Of Myself.

"I'm a huge fan of their music and couldn't be happier to have Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes as an official part of our family," said Social Family Records label manager, Nardia Drayton.

"At a time when we're more creatively inspired than ever, it's great to be surrounded by a team that lives and breakthes music the same way that we do,' said Lachlan Bryan.

The agreement places Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes alongside a roster of some of the most exciting names in country music including Caroline Jones (USA) and Cormac Neeson (IRL), as well as on a platform that helped launch the careers of Amber Lawrence, The Buckleys, Fanny Lumsden and Andrew Swift.

I Went Down, written by the trio's guitarist and producer Damian Cafarella, features a paranoid narrator with a terrible secret. Through the song the band thumps and hisses its way through a musical swamp filled with call-and-response guitars and wailing church organs. It's a murky, dirty, sinful good time.
