Kelsea Ballerini has opened up about leaving social media platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter) and Reddit, and what’s keeping her on Instagram on TikTok.

In a cover story interview with People, the Mountain With A View singer revealed that she “got rid of Twitter” long ago, which she said was helpful. “Twitter kicked my ass,” she said.

Ballerini also tried Reddit, but that didn’t work out.

“I discovered Reddit. I went through a very toxic phase with that, but it was when my life was a bit chaotic,” she shared. “Then I was like, ‘We need to have some boundaries.’ So, that’s no longer.”

Ballerini remains on TikTok and Instagram—it would be difficult to exist and boost one’s profile as an artist without those two apps in 2025—but even they’re a bit too much to deal with.

“I really just keep up with TikTok and Instagram, and even that feels like too much, but I’m not sure how to not because I’m a people pleaser, and I like the feedback,” she said.

“I think my intention is because I like feedback, and I like to edit set lists, or we’re tweaking things on the tour because I’m seeing stuff on TikTok. But yeah, I’m a girl. I’m sensitive. I’m an artist. If I see a mean comment, it affects me.”

In October, Kelsea Ballerini released her fifth album, Patterns, and followed it with a deluxe edition in March. With the deluxe, she released an additional five songs: To The Men That Love Women After Heartbreak, Future Tripping, Put It To Bed, Cut Me Up, and Hindsight Is Happiness.

In addition to her career as a touring singer-songwriter, Ballerini presently serves as the face of COVERGIRL and Pantene and recently joined as a Coach on Season 27 of NBC’s The Voice.
