Jelly Roll Has Never Had A Beer

Jelly Roll has admitted something many would never want to share with people: he’s never had a beer.

Speaking with NFL veterans Taylor Lewan and Will Compton on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast and joined by his podcaster and YouTuber wife, Bunnie Xo, the secret was officially out there.

When the topic of “beer Olympics” surfaced, Bunnie Xo looked at her husband and said, “You’re gonna drink beer? His tummy gets upset… he’s allergic to gluten and wheat and stuff; that’s all that’s in beer.”

Jelly Roll, taking the comment in his stride, responded, “Very few things are more embarrassing than my wife looking at two alpha men and saying about her husband, ‘His tummy hurts.’” He continued, “The funny thing about this is I’ve just never drank a beer…."

He explained, “Listen, this is a hot take; I didn’t want to say this on your pod; I didn’t want to say this ever. I’ve always looked at beer as the men’s version of wine. It’s kind of like something, you know, girls would do.

“It’s like ‘Oh, I’m drinking a beer.’ When a dude’s like, ‘Oh, I drank ten beers,’ I’m like, ‘Or you could’ve drank three shots like a real man.’” You can watch a snippet of the interview below.

Jelly Roll recently went viral on TikTok after pulling up into a Whataburger drive-thru with two of his friends, asking the teen at the window how many people were working that night (it was five), and promptly said that he would be tipping $1,000 that night on one condition: that $200 goes to each worker.

“My dude don’t believe me y’all, but we’re gonna hit ’em with the big ol’ bankroll,” Jelly Roll said in the first TikTok video. Another video, captured by the teens, shows how excited they were to receive that sweet cash. 

As Jelly Roll mentioned in a recent interview, he and business partner Jerry Gift Jr. “only hire second-chance guys”.

He explained: “Every other place in the world is like, 'If you got a felony, you can't work here.' We're only hiring felons. They run the food truck, and it comes out on tour with us some nights.”
