Jelly Roll is about to add another achievement to his name, with a forthcoming song called Get By set to be the ESPN College Football Anthem over the 2024-2025 season.

Get By, which will feature on the singer’s yet-to-be-announced upcoming album, will be heard at the beginning of the season later this month: Saturday, 24 August.

You can listen to a teaser of the song below.

The 2024-2025 season is the 11th season that ESPN has partnered with an artist to host a College Football Anthem. Jelly Roll is the second country artist (following Lauren Alaina) to receive the honour, with a pre-country Post Malone, Imagine Dragons, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Fall Out Boy, and more creating an anthem for ESPN.

On his Instagram Stories, Jelly Roll shared a video teaser announcement about his College Football Anthem, writing: “College Football on ESPN. Yeah, that’s how I get by.”

In a statement, Curtis Friends, the ESPN Vice President of Marketing, said about locking in Jelly Roll for this year’s College Anthem (via The Tennessean):

There’s a powerful connection between music and college football and for more than a decade, the ESPN college football music anthem has been integral to the promotion of the sport while its release has marked the unofficial start to the season.

Jelly Roll is a talented, award-winning artist whose music speaks to the passion of college football fans across the country, and we’re excited ‘Get By’ will soundtrack the sport all season long.

Jelly Roll made headlines over the weekend (4 August), getting in the ring at Cleveland, Ohio’s WWE SummerSlam.

After throwing down wrestler Austin Theory in a chokeslam, he wrote on social media, “Crazy—I lived a childhood dream tonight in the craziest way I’ve ever lived it. Wow, man, thank you @WWE for everything. What a night.”

Last week, Jelly Roll released the music video for his highly anticipated single, Liar.

In other Jelly Roll news, the singer was recently named Deputy Sheriff of Genesee County in Michigan and collaborated with mgk on the song Lonely Road, which interpolates the John Denver classic Take Me Home, Country Roads.
