Similarly to emerging country artist, Freddie Bailey earning a spot in the battle rounds, South Austalia’s Ella & Sienna have been selected as part of Rita Ora’s top 6 on The Voice Australia.

The sister duo blind auditioned with a cover of Taylor Swift’s cardigan, earning a three-chair turn from Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy and Ora. Abandoning their original choice of Urban, they surprised everyone, including themselves, when they choose Ora as their coach.

They told SAFM, “Honestly, it was a big surprise to us. We went into it thinking Keith for the country music influence... but up on that stage, Rita just spoke to us so beautifully and really won us over.”

Hailing from the Adelaide Hills, Ella, 19, and Sienna, 15, are multi-instrumentalists, whose live performances mainly feature Ella on vocals/guitar, and Sienna on vocals/bass. Inspired by artists like Missy Higgins and Swift, their original music brings a unique blend of modern country, folk and acoustic pop.

The 2021 CMAA Junior Academy graduates released their single Save Your Breath in 2020. Written by the sisters following the devastating bush fires of January, the song helped the process the tragic losses suffered by their local community and its wildlife.

They also placed in the top 3 of the Gympie Muster Talent Search in 2019.

Their latest single, Next To Mine, currently sits at #45 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. Produced by award winning producer Matt Fell at Love Hz Studios in Sydney, the track embodies their formidable combination of soaring vocals, captivating sibling harmonies, catchy pop hooks, and country inspired storytelling.

Sienna says “Next to Mine was written during the first pandemic lockdown in 2020. I wanted to create an energetic, uptempo reflection of our love and care for family and friends.”

Ella adds, “We were inspired by the shared feeling of heartache and longing to be close to loved ones through the uncertain and devastating times.”
