Last night (13 October) was a rough night on The Voice, with all the show’s remaining country artists – Duncan Toombs, Beau Shearer, and the newly formed duo of Tori Darke & Brad Butcher – eliminated from the competition.
The singers reached the Knockouts round—The Voice Australia’s quarter-finals—and just missed out on making next week’s semi-finals.
Tori Darke & Brad Butcher were placed in the Showdown (sing-off with other contestants) after delivering a minute-long rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain. After that performance, they both sang solo – Darke sang Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood, and Butcher sang I Remember Everything by Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves – before being eliminated.
During the Knockouts, 16-year-old Beau Shearer performed Wake Me Up by Avicii, and Duncan Toombs performed Human by Rag ‘N’ Bone Man. Neither of them made it past the Showdown.
Toombs, Darke and Butcher were on LeAnn Rimes’ team, while Shearer was on Guy Sebastian’s team.
Since last night’s episode, all four contestants have taken to social media to thank fans for their support and write about their experiences on The Voice.

So overwhelmed with beautiful messages from everyone. This journey and your kind words have truly filled my heart. I’ve never been more determined or focused to keep following my heart down this road of singing and songwriting. I’m planning to release some brand new original music very soon and start playing shows of my own around our beautiful country. I’d love you to come with me on this journey and walk this road together.

And that’s a wrap on the voice 2024 for me. Thanks to my “Team Guy” mates and all the other talented friends I’ve made along the way, can’t wait to see ya all again. Thanks to my knockout partner @jaydinshingletonmusic for being a great opponent!
Can’t wait to see what happens in the semis and finals now! It’s a harder choice at the top! I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this competition and met some amazingly talented people who I am lucky to call mates. It’s not the end of my journey but, only the start.
Butcher added:
When Katie and the girls first told me they had signed me up to audition for The Voice I was apprehensive, I actually flat out said no and I didn’t want to do it. Seeing how excited the girls were about the possibility of being on television and Hudson’s chance to meet Guy Sebastian was too much for me to argue with.
As my experience wraps up I can tell you I enjoyed it from start to finish and it pushed me to places I wouldn’t ever have gone. I’m very grateful to my girls for signing me and up and thank you to the entire Voice Crew for the love and care shown to all of us behind the scenes.
A huge thanks to all those I have met with of course a special mention to Tori for your friendship and working so hard on the songs with me and then to Leann for challenging me and trusting me but also for helping guide us through to be our best. You’re a gem!
Good luck to all those still in the running and thank you to all of you at home for your kind messages of support.
