Red Dog Recordings will also officially announce two additional local artist signings in the coming weeks.
Red Dog Recordings (established in November 2020) have signed US country artists, the Davisson Brothers Band (USA) as the label’s first international signing. The band’s upcoming collection of music will be released via Red Dog Recordings and their distribution partner Believe, in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia in partnership with Rollin’ The Dice Records.
The Davisson Brothers Band join the label’s current local roster of “Australia’s favourite son” Shannon Noll, and emerging all-female country band, Southbound xo.
Hailing from the hills of West Virginia, the Davisson Brothers Band will release a brand-new album, produced by Brett Cobb and David “Ferg” Ferguson, across the world in the Autumn of 2023, with the first single from the new project scheduled for release on October 21.
“This new twelve song album is the record we’ve dreamed of making. This album is pure Davisson Brothers Band music. It tells the story of where we come from, where we are and where we are going,” say Chris and Donnie Davisson.
The Davisson Brothers Band first caught the attention of Australian country music fans in late 2017 with the release of their hit single Po Boys (from the album Fighter), which peaked at #2 on the national country singles charts in Australia.
Upon arriving in Australia for the first time in 2018, the band famously received a very public endorsement by Australian country superstar Lee Kernaghan during the CMC Music Awards. Their acclaimed performances at the CMC Rocks QLD festival took place several days later.

The Davisson Brothers Band returned to Australia in 2019 as international headliners at the Groundwater Country Music Festival and released the song Greatest Show On Earth with local artist Amber Lawrence in 2020.
The band’s music has been well supported in Australia, on country radio networks such as KIX Country, Triple M Country, iHeart Radio and Triple A, as well as CMC and CMT.
“Australia loves the Davisson Brothers Band. This partnership with Red Dog Recordings has come at the perfect time. We are long overdue for some new DDB music on the radio!” says Justin Thomson, National Content Director, KIX Country.
“We are so excited about signing with Red Dog Recordings for representation in Australia. Tim Holland led the way in breaking us into Australia. It feels like a meant to be moment getting to work together again,” add Chris and Donnie Davisson.
Tim Holland, General Manager, Red Dog Recordings says, “The signing of the Davisson Brothers Band as our first international artists is incredibly special for our label. Their album Fighter was the last project I ever worked on with my great mentor Rob Potts. That on its own is very significant for me, but to then see Rob’s vision and belief in a band no one had ever seen or heard of previously in Australia, then come to life after he invited them to play at CMC Rocks Queensland has been truly wonderful.”
“We are incredibly excited to be building on the band’s success in Australia with new music that shows the Davisson Brothers Band at the peak of their powers,” he continues.
