The Countrytown & KIX Country Centre Stage Artist is Adam Brand

Countrytown in partnership with KIX Country is proud to announce multi award-winning artist, Adam Brand as this week’s ‘Centre Stage’ artist. Every week we'll be shining a light on a single artist every week across all platforms including online features, airplay, and social support.

Since bursting onto the scene with his celebrated self-titled debut album in 1998, Brand has taken home 12 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards and netted six ARIA Award nominations. Confirming Adam’s incomparable power as a fan favourite performer Australia wide, he has taken out seven CMC Oz Artist of the Year Awards – more than any other artist in the awards’ history.

As well as his 13 studio albums, Brand has released one holiday album, Christmas In Australia and three compilation albums. Starting with Built for Speed in 2002, Brand has enjoyed an unbroken string of #1-charting ARIA Country Albums. 2020’s Speed of Life took out the #6 spot on the overall ARIA Albums Chart, marking Adam’s sixth studio album to make the Top 10.

In 2016, he also teamed up with Drew McAlister, Travis Collins, Matt Cornell and Mike Carr on the release Adam Brand and the Outlaws, which was nominated for ‘Best Country Album’ at the 2016 ARIA Awards. It peaked at #6 on the ARIA Australia Albums Chart, and #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Albums and Australian Artist Albums charts.  

His latest single, All Or Nothing, peaked at #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. Produced by Luke Wooten, All Or Nothing was co-written with The Wolfe Brothers.

Brand describes the single, “To be country, is more than just looking or sounding a certain way, it’s more than just a passing fad or a trend to be a part of…. being country is about authenticity, it’s actually living the life and values in the lyrics of our songs. So, if you’re here for a fast buck or coz it’s the ‘in thing’ right now… Then move on, coz round here, it’s All or Nothing!”

The track followed Still The One, which both feature on his forthcoming new album, All Or Nothing, out August 26. Conceived and recorded during lockdown, Brand has created a new work that tells something of his own story and mirrors the challenging times we live in.

“I didn't really set about to make an album, which is strange for me,” explains Brand of the process behind All Or Nothing. “Usually, when it's time to make a record, I start compiling ideas, I start writing more, I start fishing for songs from songwriter friends. Traditionally - for me - making an album is like building a house from start to finish."

He adds, “All Or Nothing was different because it was recorded through Covid. Everything was different. We didn’t know if we were ever going to make albums again or what was going to happen. So, I just started off - relatively quietly - by going into a friend's studio while I was over in Perth - to do ‘a couple of songs.’”
