Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and St Paul & The Broken Bones are putting on a double-bill show for two nights in Sydney and Melbourne next year.

Both acts are performing at Bluesfest next Easter Long Weekend, which takes place from Thursday, 6 to Monday, 10 April 2023.

The co-headlining shows will hit Melbourne's Forum Theatre on Monday, 10 April. Sydney is next; the groups will rock the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Thursday, 13 April.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale this Friday, 28 October, at 12 pm. General public tickets will be available from Monday, 31 October, at 12 pm. Times are AEST.

Bluesfest Director Peter Noble OAM is enthusiastic about both groups. On the Colorado-based Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, he says, "They mix rock 'n' roll swagger with classic soul, R&B and a touch of country. They will make their long-awaited return to Australian shores following their explosive Australian shows in 2019." The depth and creativity of the band shine on their 2021 album, The Future, which proved why they are one of the most recognisable new forces in contemporary rock 'n' roll.

The Birmingham, Alabama-based St Paul & The Broken Bones have Noble sharing, "[they] are known for their powerhouse soul, funk rock with their charismatic singer Paul Janeway, and are returning to the Bluesfest and touring as an audience favourite. They are a Musical Experience Like No Other!" The group's adventurous latest record, The Alien Coast, arrives at a convergence of rock & roll, R&B, psychedelia and funk. It is at once explosive, elegant, and unhinged. That sound makes for a majestic backdrop to the band's visceral exploration of the strangest dimensions of the human psyche.
