Australian country-folk-rock singer Wil Linder has revealed that he’s been hacked ahead of the release of his upcoming single, Skin To Skin.
“I got hacked right when I was about to release a new single,” he said in a video posted on a brand-new Instagram account on Tuesday (8 April). As an artist, the loss of his entire social media presence, where he not only hyped up the forthcoming track but other music, is devastating.
Introducing potential new fans, he continued, “My name is Wil Linder. I’m a country-rock musician from Western Sydney, and I just lost access to both my Instagram and Facebook accounts, which means I’ve lost all of my followers, all of my posts, and I have to start from scratch.
“The worst part about all of this is I’m releasing a new single this Friday, and all of my promotion, all of the work that I put into pushing this to all of the right places, has now gone down the drain.
“I’d really love your support to get that back on the road again. If you could follow this new page, share this video around, and make sure you pre-save my new song, Skin To Skin, that would be a lifesaver.”
He concluded, “I’m trying to look at this with optimism. It sucks, but if I can make something good out of this, I would love your help in doing that. Lots of love, and let’s get this show on the road.”

Skin To Skin follows the November release of Linder’s track, Keep Getting Fooled. In 2023, he released his debut album, Play The Fool.
Keep Getting Fooled is a raw country song with a grunge feel. He said of the emotive track: “You can dream all you like, but sometimes reality is a harsh beast to face.
“At times, it’s the world turning its back on you and telling you to get a ‘real job’ or a ‘safe job,’ other times it’s your own mind playing games with you and stealing the confidence you once had.”
Emerging from the outskirts of Sydney, Wil Linder has been chasing his music dream since he was 19. His guitar playing, melodies, and memorable performances have already seen him sell out venues like the Richmond Regent Theatre.
