Amy Sheppard appears in body-image advocate Taryn Brumfitt’s new documentary, Embrace: Kids, alongside other celebrities like Celeste Barber, Alex Noble, Jameela Jamil, and Electric Fields.

The new documentary follows Brumfitt’s 2016 break-out documentary Embrace: The Documentary, which explored the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies. This time she’s talking to school-aged kids and famous friends about body image, bullying, gender identity, advocacy, representation and more.

Embrace: Kids brings together a vibrant collection of stories and voices to entertain and inspire kids and parents alike, showing us that the first step in changing the world, is changing your own mind. The film helps children decode the ways that advertising, social media, celebrity culture, and the diet and fitness industries influence how we feel about our bodies.

Sheppard shared on social media, “A truly moving documentary which gives children insight into how to discover their true worth and embrace their bodies as they are. This documentary is a must-see for ALL ages and features yours truly. Wish we all had something like this when we were growing up.”

The documentary is currently showing at select cinemas around Australia.

Sheppard packed up her pop stylings and fused them with country influences for her debut solo single, Nothing But Wild, in April. While definitely not her first foray into the genre, previously already a Golden Guitar Award winner for her vocals on Lee Kernaghan’s Spirit of the Anzacs, Sheppard spent the past three years writing and building towards the solo release.

And while a country turn on her own may seem somewhat distant from conjuring pop earworms with her siblings and garnering over one-billion combined song streams under the Sheppard moniker, she has always had a special place in her heart for country flavours.

Her debut EP of the same name is set for release on September 16. She will also be complementing its release with a number of live performances during September, and October.
