Sensible Serenades with Mat Ridgby, Cooper Lower and Quiet Coven

Sensible Serenades returns to Jolt Studios Northcote, for its third instalment — bringing together three of Naarm’s most exciting independent acts for an intimate night of live music.
Presented by Sensible Antixx Records, Sensible Serenades is a series built around great songs, good people and discovering artists worth paying attention to.

For the third edition we’re excited to welcome the absolutely incredible Mat Rigby, Cooper Lower and Quiet Coven to the stage. Three distinct artists, three different perspectives, and one special night in the unique surrounds of Jolt Studios.

Melbourne-based artist Mat Rigby has already built a growing fanbase of over 75k followers (at just 18 years old!), generating millions of views across his social channels, driven by the strength of his vocal performance (and all before releasing his first official track!). First picking up the guitar after being gifted one for his seventh birthday, Mat hasn’t put it down since. Inspired early on by his grandpa Bob (who always had a guitar in hand) Mat gravitated towards music naturally, picking up any instrument he could as a kid before the guitar became his main outlet. What began as a personal escape has quickly evolved into a defining creative voice, shaped by lived experience and emotional honesty.
Most recently, Mat released his debut single “Holdin’ On To You” which saw him sell-out his first headline show and earn radio support across the country.

Cooper Lower is a multi-disciplinary artist and songwriter based in Melbourne/Naarm, Australia. Emerging as one of Australia’s most enchanting new voices, Cooper has shared his music on renowned stages throughout Europe, North America and Australia, while developing an extensive body of work as a songwriter, producer and collaborator. His co-writing credits span artists across Australia and Europe, alongside composing work for screen, including the Netflix feature film Misie (2025).

Now on the verge of releasing his debut album reaching out, somehow, Lower’s maturity and sensitivity are on full display as he invites listeners into an honest encounter with grief, rage, heartbreak, expression, vitality and desire. Self-produced, reaching out, somehow marks a significant step into a new chapter of Lower’s artistry.

Quiet Coven are an independent Melbourne-based duo comprised of Anna O'Bryan and Al Newstead. Their music is lovingly crafted and spacious, conveying subtle strength and dynamism in their debut releases 'Stillness' and 'Certain About Something'. Released earlier this year, both tracks have received airplay on Triple R (Breakfasters) and PBS (The Breakfast Spread).
