Emerging Western Australian country-pop artist Olive Mae will release her first-ever music video for the single Wait & See tomorrow (30 May), but she has given Countrytown the opportunity to exclusively premiere the clip today.
The video, filmed by Jay Seeney (founder of Blacklist Productions), who’s worked with a who’s who of the Australian country music industry (Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers, James Johnston), was shot on location in Wilyabrup and Injidup in Western Australia.
Wait & See finds Mae traversing across towns on a sunny day in Western Australia, driving on dirt tracks and fresh roads, strumming an acoustic guitar, and strolling on a beach.
In a white, old car with a decal that reads “I just want one” on the back window, Wait & See is anthemic: a song of chasing what you want and no longer holding back. With bright, sunny chords on the acoustic guitar and Mae’s smooth vocals, Wait & See is contrasted by an attention-grabbing electric guitar – all forming the complete package.
In a statement, Mae said of working with Seeney on her debut music video: “I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Jay Seeney on my debut film clip.
“We had such an epic time shooting this clip around the gorgeous southwest of WA, where I am lucky enough to call home. We joked at the time that the scenery shots he captured were something right out of a tourism WA commercial. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!”

Wait & See is from Olive Mae’s newly announced debut EP, Hit The Road, set for release via indie label RTC Records on Friday, 21 June.
Recorded with sound engineer James Newhouse at Lamb Chop Studios in Bunbury, Western Australia, Hit The Road has been a long time coming for Mae, a release incorporating elements of classic Australiana, folk and country music.
“After what feels like far too long, I am so excited to finally be releasing my first-ever EP,” Mae said. “These songs have been a part of my life for quite some time now, and I'm very happy that they will all be out in the world for everyone to hear.”
