Having kept us in the dark after her 2024 Tamworth performance, Kaitlyn Thomas is back with more swagger than ever on her new single, Hell Of A Long Time - and she’s pairing it with a fun new music video that’s premiering right here on Countrytown.
According to Thomas, the single - which dropped earlier this month - is the soundtrack to catching up with loved ones, “knowing that time may change us, but it will never change the bond and good times that we all share.”
Her music video plays into that nostalgia, showing Thomas playing at an old-school house party, with red solo cups and beer pong aplenty.
Surrounded by friends, young and old, she performs her song with the energy most fans would recognise from her stint on Australian Idol last year.
Writing Hell Of A Long Time was a joint effort between Thomas herself, Troy Kemp, Michael Paynter, and Michael Delorenzis, the latter two known as the production and songwriting team, MSquared.
Thomas’ new track comes off the back of quite a successful year, including being announced as a Top 12 Talent Search Finalist at the 2024 Gympie Music Muster.

The singer-songwriter has represented Australia at the World Championships of Performing Arts, performed with Opera Australia in La Boheme, and been a passionate ambassador for the anti-bullying organisation Bully Zero since she was 12 years old.
A graduate of both the junior and senior Academy of Country Music, Kaitlyn has performed at many of Australia’s biggest festivals, including the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Road To Roma and Whittlesea Country Music Festival.
