Australian country singer Jade Gibson has returned with a lovelorn pop-country banger, Down The Road.
In the music video, which stars Home And Away actor and performer Kyle Shilling, Gibson sings about the unexpected comfort of finding new love close to home.
In the sunny chorus, she sings, “I wish I'd known you were just down the road/ If I’d had known that there’d be brighter days, I would've saved myself a whole lotta heartache” as the clip transitions from her mourning a relationship on the bathroom floor to her moving on.
The music video, filmed at the picturesque Camden Valley Inn by Jake Davey Studios, complements Gibson, Tyler Bank, and Ben Horsley's bright, clever songwriting and production by MSquared (Michael Paynter and Michael Delorenzis).
“The music video for Down The Road brings to life the feeling of a budding relationship,” Gibson said about her latest music video. “You may notice the male actor is Kyle Shilling from Home And Away.”
On Instagram, she added, “From my heart to yours, we were overdue for a love song, so I hope you do truly love this new song.”

In September, Gibson took the helm and participated in the Countrytown Cookoff, revealing her easy and delicious carrot cake recipe.
“Of course, I'm extremely biased, but I 100% believe this carrot cake recipe is the best,” Gibson wrote. “Gifted to me by my step mum, Jodi, this carrot cake has been one of my favourite sweet treats ever since. It's my ultimate comfort food. So much so that for the last few years, it's even been my birthday cake!”
By 2023, Gibson had over 500 concerts under her belt, a work ethic inspired by her musical icons in Keith Urban, The Chicks and Fleetwood Mac.
In 2018, Gibson spent a whole year in Nashville studying while developing her skills in performing, songwriting, and recording. The following year, she released her debut single, The Great Unknown, from her five-track EP of the same name. The EP explored stories of being young, love, heartbreak, and chasing dreams. Upon release, the track debuted at #1 on the Australian iTunes country charts.
