My Countrytown: Sweet T – Leesburg, Florida

Regional towns are in our blood here at CountryTown! From Kurri Kurri to Broome, Ballarat to Noojee, we love the amazing country musicians our regional centres produce – but we mustn’t forget the quality artists who come from distant shores too!

Born and raised as Tiffany Thomas in Leesburg, Florida, family and home are important factors in rising country artist and content creator, (under her musical moniker) Sweet T’s music, as she writes with her uncle who is also a country fan. She recently released her emotive debut single. Titled These Boots the track was inspired by the emotional impact of a person, and how that emotion can be signified by a single object, in this case it's someone's boots.

Recorded at Pstunna Studios in Florida, Sweet T wrote this song with her uncle. "This song was released for people who know what it is like to have a relationship interrupted by misunderstanding" explains Sweet T who hopes her new single will bring comfort and community to those who need it.

About My HomeTown

I was born and raised in Leesburg, Florida, also known as the Lakefront City. Leesburg is home to many Central Floridians who love and enjoy its simple pace yet alluring details that it is surrounded by. The family oriented, nature- driven lifestyle and convenient locations are just a few reasons that make Leesburg a great place to live. Other beautiful features include the historic downtown district and the fact that Leesburg is almost completely surrounded by lakes. 

Lakefront

I love the Lakefront and active lifestyle surrounding the atmosphere in our hometown. The Harris Chain of Lakes allows both residents and visitors to take advantage of all that Lake County has to offer. Whether spending a day with my loved ones includes having a picnic, playing volleyball, or taking boats and jet skis out for a day on the water, the choice is all ours. The popular Venetian Gardens has a beautiful park, splash pad, nature walking trails, and continues to expand bringing other unique experiences. 

Business 

Many residents have several generations in the area. Store owners and businesses have a welcoming mindset and, as a community, we are dedicated to helping it grow and continue to prosper. Growing up in an environment of entrepreneurship has inspired me in many ways to embark upon the journey of becoming a full-time entrepreneur myself. I aspire to create generational wealth and make a positive impact through my music and other talents that I possess. 

Artistic Culture

The overall artistic and cultural scene is one of my favourite features. There are several spots in the town painted with murals and the occasional appearance of craft fairs and art festivals throughout the year. My favourite art gallery to visit is, Artist With A Purpose, at Downtown Leesburg which hosts a variety of paint parties, poetry/spoken word events, alongside therapeutic paint sessions in a loving, warm, and welcoming atmosphere. As a Music Artist, it is nice to see a variety of ways that others express themselves and heal by way of doing what they are so strongly and passionate about. 

Festivals

There are several types of local shopping and dining options, festive events and much more for all to enjoy. Some of the most popular include the Wine and Food Festival as well as the world famous BikeFest! This is always a great time to meet new people from near and far, enjoy new food/beverages, take a look at custom painted motorcycles of all styles and more!! 

Housing Market

In addition to all of the beautiful features and fun festivities, Leesburg has a thriving housing market and is considered a great place to either expand business or start a new venture. Leesburg is increasing the quality of life for current and future residents as it continues to expand with serene and convenient offerings such as new and modern housing developments to include 55+ communities, more attractions, and close proximity to other towns such as Eustis, Tavares, Mt. Dora, and The Villages.
