Based in Australia’s Blue Mountains region of NSW, Drew McAlister has released his latest single, When This Is All Over.
“I wrote the song with a good friend of mine called Col Gentles. We've been writing together quite a lot and, when we wrote the song, it just felt like it was right. It is a covid song, but it’s about anything that you want to get to the end of and see the light at the end of the tunnel. That’s the idea of it,” says McAlister.
The music video was created by Shane Cantly from Shootnedit in the style of a home video.
“We found as much iPhone footage as we could, pieced it together and put [the fans] in there as well, so [they] were a part of it. It sure brings back some memories. Hopefully, we get a chance to it all again soon,” adds McAlister.
Recorded between Nashville and Australia, When This Is All Over is the first release since his 2019 singles, The Stranger and Live Young.
His solo albums – Black Sky (2015) and Coming Your Way (2017) – scored him five number one hits on the country music chart as well as an Aria Award nomination, 4 Golden Guitar Awards and an APRA Song Of The Year Award.
