Good Beer by Seaforth and Jordan Davis – Song of the Day

Australian country duo, Seaforth have teamed up with their former tour mate, Jordan Davis on their new release, Good Beer – it’s our Song of the Day!

“We haven’t put music out in a minute, but we got tired of shedding tears and wanted to come into 2022 swingin’,” joked Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson of Seaforth. “We wrote Good Beer with two of our best mates, Rocky Block and Jordan Dozzi, and we think it’s a fun way to give folks a sneak peek at a new project we’re excited to share soon. Obviously having Jordan Davis on this track is exciting for us, he’s a full-blown legend. We’re fans of his and now friends, so we’re stoked to share it with him too.”

Good Beer is the duo’s first release since their viral hit, Breakups, which earned over 250 million global on-demand streams – also our previous Song of the Day. This new offering, as well as its accompanying music video, kicks off 2022 with Seaforth’s signature good vibes and cheeky humour.

Seaforth added, “Although our golf skills are comparable to a sleeping humpback whale, as soon as we saw Blythe Thomas’ treatment for the video, we knew it was the perfect fit. We had such a great day filming it as we got to just have fun and show our personality … plus we got some super trendy outfits out of it. The whole thing is light-hearted, much like the song. We hope everyone digs it!”

The rising pop-country duo, from the suburb of Seaforth in New South Wales, now call Nashville home. Childhood friends from three-years-old, Tom and Mitch later found themselves drawn to similar music, listening to modern songwriters like Keith Urban one minute and old-school acts like the Beatles the next.

They released their debut EP, Love That in 2019. The title track made waves on country radio and earned more than 43 million streams. They collaborated with fellow country artist, Mitchell Tenpenny on their follow-up single Anything She Says, which was gold-certified and surpassed 79 million streams. Last year, Seaforth were the recipients of APRA’s Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year award.

Davis also has had success over the last year. He released his song, Buy Dirt with fellow country singer Luke Bryan on his EP of the same name. The song rose to #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart for the second time on January 14, following reaching the milestone on December 31.

Following his debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Friday, Davis recently performed an acoustic version of the hit song at the wedding of fans Claudia and JD for their first dance.

“So, we just wrapped up at Jimmy Fallon. There’s a wedding in New Jersey and the first dance song is Buy Dirt. They had a DJ playing it, but we’re only 35 minutes away so we are going over to play the first dance song live,” Davis explains in a video as they drive to the venue.
