For Elizabeth by 20-year-old, Queensland singer-songwriter Denvah is our Song of the Day! It's her fourth single from her debut EP, Just The Beginning.
Denvah (Denvah)
At just 20-year-old, central Queensland singer-songwriter Denvah pens songs that glow with closeness and maturity beyond her years – and her latest track For Elizabeth is no exception. It's our Song of the Day!
For Elizabeth follows her top 5 break-out hit My Favourite and top 10 Do It Again and recent single, How Could You, and is her fourth single from her debut, self-penned EP, Just The Beginning.
Recorded by Nathan Davis with additional recording, engineering, and mixing provided by Matt Fell at Love HZ Studios, the EP was recorded over 2 days in a makeshift studio set up on Great Keppel Island at the Shell House, a sprawling 1961 building crammed with an extraordinary variety of sea shells.
Of For Elizabeth, Denvah says, “Just like the title, I wrote this song for a beautiful little girl named Elizabeth, who needed a little encouraging to show her beautiful heart off to the world. I was hoping my words would be as powerful as she is and give her the ammunition to face this world as I know she can. I also wanted to invite listeners to believe that having a kind heart never makes you look weak but rather strong in this negative world we live in.”

Denvah began her love of music at a young age, listening to artists like Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, and Kasey Chambers. She began singing at age 13, after discovering Taylor Swift and later, Ed Sheeran. Which, she admits, her love of Ed’s lyrics merged with her love of country have helped shape her sound.
