Zac & George Dominate APRA Country Awards Nominations

The 2025 APRA Music Awards nominees have been announced this morning. Best mates Zac & George lead the Most Performed Country Work category for this year’s awards and are joined by stellar additional local country music stars in the same category.

Zac & George are dual nominees in the same category, with two of their songs up for the title” Call It A Day and Some Things Never Change. APRA honours the writers of the nominated songs therefore Nicole Miller, Kyle Winski as well as fellow artist and collaborator on Some Thing Never Change James Johnston have also received nominations.

Previously nominated last year, Kaylee Bell has received yet another nod in 2025 for her hit song Good Things written with Michael De Lorenzis, Melanie Dyer and Michael Paynter.

Last year’s Most Performed Country Work winner Casey Barnes is hoping to make back to back wins with his single and album title track Mayday. Written with Danielle Blakey and Morgan Evans two Australian songwriters/artists now based full time out of Nashville, TN, this years group of nominees are proving to be a strong country music category.

On the international front Cooper Alan who made his Australian debut at CMC Rocks in 2024 has received a nomination in the same category for Take Forver (Hally’s Song) written by Australian songstress Kylie Sackley, as well as Timothy Cooper and Justin Morgan.

Shaboozey has also walked away with an APRA Award nomination for his viral sensation A Bar Song (Tipsy) written by Australians Sean Cook and Nevin Sastry, as well as Collins Chibueze, Jerrell Jones, Joe Kent and Mark Williams for Most Performed International Work.
