Zac Brown BandIn what would have to be one of the shortest marriages in music history (sorry, you still win Britney), Zac Brown has announced his divorce from wife Kelly Yazdi. Confirming the split to Billboard, the couple issued a statement saying:
“We are in the process of divorce. Our mutual respect for one another remains. We wish each other the best and will always appreciate our time together. As we navigate this personal matter, we simply request privacy during this time.”
It is unknown what has caused the surprising breakup such a short time after the pair’s nuptuals.
The couple announced their engagement a year ago in December 2022 and were secretly married in August 31 in Georgia according to TMZ. Yazdi has a successful career as a model, actress and stuntwoman, while Zac Brown Band continues to be one of the leading forces in country music, with a swag of Grammys and eight #1 country hits in the US, including 2008’s classic Chicken Fried.
Fans were already speculating that the marriage was in trouble with Yazdi deactivating her Instagram before reinstating it with Brown’s surname removed from her bio and photos of him deleted from her feed.
The marriage was Brown’s second after a far longer twelve-year stint with first wife Shelly Brown to whom he shares four daughters and a son. Their relationship ended in 2018.
It has been a big year for family in the Zac Brown Band with new member Caroline Jones having her first child. Jones and Zac Brown also collaborated with the release of the song Million Little Band Aids released in July.
Zac Brown Band also graced Australian shores for CMC Rocks in March, bringing their massive catalogue of hits to fans and even dropping a bit of Metallica for good measure.
