Seems like Luke Grimes is a man of many talents.
Yellowstone actor Luke Grimes has launched his country career after signing a record deal with Universal Music Group Nashville and releasing his first song, No Horse To Ride.
The actor and now singer/songwriter announced that he was working on a country album in a September interview with Country Living.
Now he releases his first single, No Horse To Ride, an easygoing love song that conveys a strong appreciation for his significant other. It's a campfire country song that embodies the old country saying of three chords and the truth.
In it, he sings, "I’d be spinning my wheels going nowhere fast, pocket full of sorries and an empty glass / all hat and no cattle…a cowboy with no horse to ride.”
Rolling Stone also reports that a full album is in the works, and speculation has been floating around that Grimes has been writing with some serious heavyweights in Nashville, including Brent Cobb, Jamey Johnson, Jon Randall, Josh Osborn, Jessi Alexander, The Love Junkies (Lori McKenna, Liz Rose, Hillary Lindsey), all with Dave Cobb as a producer.

Grimes grew up surrounded by music in church, where his father was a Pentecostal pastor. He learnt to sing, play the drums, and later learnt piano and guitar. Grimes also briefly played drums in a band in Los Angeles before his acting career took off.
He plays Kayce Dutton in the Yellowstone series—the son of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who works as a horseman and ranch hand on the Dutton Ranch. The character was also once in the NAVY Seals and is married to Monica Long.
