Rising Queensland star Jeremy Turner has been having an exceptional year, playing on some of the country’s biggest festival bills as well as releasing the popular hit Must’ve Been Drunk to fan’s delight. Today, Turner has added another single to his 2024 accolades with the new hit What You’re Not Looking For.
While the April release Must’ve Been Drunk was a rock-tinged oath to boozy nights, What You’re Not Looking For is a change of pace, focusing on the unexpected pathways that life can take. In this single, Turner reflects fondly on all the love, family, and success garnered into a life that you never would’ve imagined receiving.
For Turner, that narrative is very true. The Queensland artist has played the likes of Gympie Music Muster, Flame Festival, Texas Country Music Festival and Lights on the Hill this year while also getting to experience what most country artists mark as ‘making it’ - making the trip over to write in Nashville.
Released this morning to YouTube, Turner’s film clip features the storyline of a tradie falling in love with “the farmer’s daughter”.
“Sometimes you find what you’re not looking for,” Turner croons as the clip’s protagonists tie the knot in their local church. Toward the second half of the clip, Turner with his own family, playing kick with the kids, sharing a morning cuppa with the wife, and staring into the sleepy acreage horizon with gratitude mirrors this.
The film clip features Turner’s actual family, with the singer telling Instagram, “I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
