Ty Herndon Announces Engagement! Meet His Fiancé Alex!

Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated artist, Ty Herndon is getting married! He broke the news that not only was in in a new relationship, but he also introduced his fiancé Alex on social media in a photoshoot by Jeremy Ryan.  

“Well, y’all, I have a little news to share — actually some big news. The last six months God has showed up and showed out. Never in a million years would I have imagined meeting someone who would bring so much love and light into my heart,” he wrote on social media.

According to the post, Herndon and Alex met six months ago.

“Alex and I met six months ago and had our first date. Since then, we have been building our relationship and getting to know one another without a big public announcement. It was important to each of us that we be able to do this privately, and it has been an amazing journey. After all this time, I have met the person I know I’m gonna spend the rest of my life with.”

Herndon revealed Alex is an artist. The two plan to get married later this year.

He continued, “Alex is a brilliant artist and craftsman who restores mid-century furniture and makes stained glass art. He will also be starting work on his MBA soon. He’s a smartie, y’all — and I can’t wait for all of you to get to know him. Today, we are excited to let you know that we are planning a wedding! That’s right — we’re getting hitched later this year! Here’s to life, love, and wellness! We’ll see y’all soon.”

Herndon was previously in a relationship for 11-years with Matt Collum until 2021.

He wrote on social media, "After 11 beautiful years together, I want to let you know that Matt and I have decided to go our separate ways as life partners. However, we are committed to remaining lifelong friends, and I am confident that will be the case. We appreciate the support Nashville and so many of you have given us over the years and look forward to continuing a close relationship with each other and all of you."

Herndon came out publicly in 2014, revealing that he knew was gay at age 10.
