The 50th Annual Country Music Awards of Australia – the Toyota Golden Guitar Award nominations are in!
Multi-award-winning artist and Aussie icon, Troy Cassar-Daley has topped the list with eight nominations, including ‘Artist Of The Year’. His album, The World Today, which debuted at number three on the ARIA’s Top Album Chart, scored nominations for ‘Alt Country Album of the Year’ and ‘Toyota Album of the Year’. His song, I Hear My River is nominated for ‘Heritage Song of the Year’, while his hit single, Back On Country is nominated in the ‘APRA AMCOS Song of the Year’, ‘Apple Music Single of the Year’ and ‘CMT Video of the Year’ categories. He is also nominated with Ian Moss for ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’ for their track, South.
The Wolfe Brothers have also scored an impressive seven nominations, including ‘Country Music Capital News Group or Duo of the Year’. Their nostalgic, 90s inspired album, Kids On Cassette has been nominated in the ‘Contemporary Country Album of the Year’ and ‘Toyota Album of the Year’ categories, while the title track, Kids On Cassette is up for ‘APRA AMCOS Song of the Year’ and ‘CMT Video of the Year’. The duo is also nominated for ‘Heritage Song of the Year’ (Small Town Song) and ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’ for Startin’ Something featuring LOCASH.
Shane Nicholson is up for five Golden Guitar Awards. His ninth studio album, Living In Colour is up for ‘Alt Country Album of the Year’ and ‘Toyota Album of the Year’, while his track, And You Will Have Your Way is nominated in the ‘APRA AMCOS Song of the Year’ and ‘Apple Music Single of the Year’ categories. He is also up for ‘Male Artist of the Year.’

The duo of Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham are nominated for ‘Country Music Capital News Group or Duo of the Year’, with their album, The Song Club up for ‘Alt Country Album of the Year’ and ‘Toyota Album of the Year’ and their track, Spare Parts nominated for ‘CMT Video of the Year.’
Rising folk and country artist, Angus Gill has picked up four nominations including ‘Traditional Country Album of the Year’ for his bluegrass inspired album, The Scrapbook. He’s also nominated for ‘Bluegrass Recording of the Year’ (Always on the Run), ‘Bush Ballad of the Year’ (The Easy Way) and ‘Instrumental of the Year’ (Musterin’ season with Linsday Waddington).
Adam Harvey, Catherine Britt and Darlinghurst all picked up three nominations, while dual nominations went to Amy Shark (featuring Keith Urban), Andrew Swift, Ashleigh Dallas, Brad Cox, Casey Barnes, Jayne Denham, Kristy Cox, Matt Scullion, Michael Waugh, Montgomery Church, Raechel Whitchurch and The Weeping Willows.
Artists who scored single nominations include Allan Caswell, Amber Lawrence, Andrew Farriss, Camille and Stuie, Camille Trail, Cass Hopetoun, Cornell & Carr, Davidson Brothers, Dean Perrett, Dianne Lindsay, Fanny Lumsden, Hayley Jensen, Ian Moss, Jedd Hughes, Katrina Burgoyne, Kaylee Bell, Kim Cheshire, Lachlan Bryan & The Wildes, Lee Kernaghan, Lindsay Waddington, Luke O’Shea, Michael Carpenter and The Banks Brothers, Morgan Evans, O’Shea, Pete Denahy, Sam Hawksley, Sammy White, The McClymonts, Tracy Coster, Travis List and Troy Kemp.
The nominees for the 50th Golden Guitar Awards were announced today by multi-award-winning artist Kirsty Lee Akers and her husband Jesse Anderson at Tamworth’s Town Hall, with performances by Troy Cassar-Daley, Luke O’Shea, Ashleigh Dallas and Cass Hopetoun.
