Savannah In The RoundTropical North Queensland is the site of a newly launched campaign, Rockies to the Reef, which has been formed to celebrate the region’s growing ties with Canada’s country music scene.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland has developed the initiative in partnership with Skysong Records, Savannah in the Round, Fiji Airways, and Canada’s iHeartRadio. It’s a two-week campaign that showcases Tropical North Queensland as a must-visit destination, while also encouraging Canadian music fans to attend Savannah in the Round Festival.
With the campaign, Savannah in the Round’s growing relationship with Canadian artists is spotlighted – The Road Hammers and Dan Davidson returning to the festival in October.
Running until Monday, 3 August, fans in Canada can listen to what the campaign has to offer via iHeartRadio and Pure Country Records.
An additional part of the campaign will see two Canadians win the “ultimate” adventure across the Tropical North Queensland region, including return flights, accommodation, experiences across the Great Barrier Reef and rainforest, VIP passes to Savannah in the Round, and meet-and-greets with The Road Hammers and Dan Davidson.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland General Manager – Marketing, Lani Cooper, said of the Rockies to the Reef campaign, “Savannah in the Round has grown into one of Tropical North Queensland’s signature events, attracting visitors from across Australia and delivering significant economic benefits for the region.
“This campaign is a natural next step in showcasing the festival to an international audience and encouraging more Canadians to experience it firsthand.”
Cooper continued, “Canadians will appreciate the spectacular and diverse landscapes of Tropical North Queensland, with the Great Barrier Reef, Wet Tropics rainforest and accessible Outback offering a striking contrast to their own natural environment.
“We invite them to enjoy popular Canadian artists at Savannah in the Round and explore the only place where two natural World Heritage areas meet.”
James Dein, Savannah in the Round Festival Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sound Australia, added, “We have built strong relationships with Canadian artists over the years, and this partnership is a natural extension of that.
“It creates opportunities not only to welcome more Canadian visitors to Tropical North Queensland, but also to strengthen connections between artists, festivals and audiences in both countries.”
