Tori Forsyth is back - and she’s not easing into this next chapter quietly.

The acclaimed Australian alt country songwriter has returned with a brand new single, I’m Not God, the first release from her forthcoming album and the first taste of new music since her 2024 record All We Have Is Who We Are, which earned a nomination for Best Country Album at the 2024 ARIA Awards.

Following her ARIA nominated record, Forsyth is kicking off her next chapter with something rawer. I’m Not God is stripped to the bone: piano, vocal and nowhere to hide.

Written entirely by Forsyth and produced by renowned Australian producer Scott Horscroft (Spacey Jane, Birds of Tokyo, The Presets), the song was captured at Sydney’s Grove Studios in a raw, unfiltered session that prioritised feeling over polish.

The result is a powerful moment of vulnerability that sets the tone for what’s shaping up to be her most personal body of work yet.

"It's about staying true to yourself in an AI-driven world, and in any moment where you’re forced to back who you are and what you stand for,” Forsyth explains. “This song really sets the tone of the new record. Every single song on this next album has real humans dedicating blood and sweat to a body of work.”

The accompanying video doubles down on that stripped back approach. Directed by Bradley Murnane, the visual shows Forsyth performing alone in an empty hall while pianist Matt Newton provides the delicate yet explosive musical backdrop. The clip, filmed in a single take, successfully captures the same intensity that defines the recording.

Forsyth’s return arrives after several years of steady momentum. Across three albums she’s built a reputation as one of Australia’s most emotionally honest and poetic songwriters.

She has amassed more than 18 million streams globally, while her live résumé includes major festival stages like the Gympie Music Muster, BIGSOUND and Groundwater Country Music Festival, alongside tours with artists including Kasey Chambers and Jackson Dean.

Recently, Forsyth also supported 2026 Golden Guitar winner Wade Forster on his Australian headline tour acting as another reminder that her reputation as a live performer is just as strong as her songwriting credentials.

Next up, Forsyth will take that new music back overseas continuing her global expansion, with a performance already confirmed at the Hollergirl Music Festival in Kentucky this June.

With I’m Not God setting the tone of her next project and more Australian tour dates expected to follow soon, Forsyth’s next chapter is already shaping up to be one of her boldest and most authentic yet.
