Tom Wolfe Welcomes Second Daughter Amid Family Tragedy

Tom Wolfe, bassist of award-winning Tasmanian duo, The Wolfe Brothers, has welcomed his second daughter with wife, Ally. Matilda Leonie Wolfe was born at 10.11pm on October 17.

The couple, who are also parents to 18-month-old Evelyn Millie Wolfe shared the news on social media: “Tilly is bringing some pure joy in a time where we need it. Big sister Evie is very excited and handling all the changes like an absolute superstar. We’re so proud of both our girls.”

Wolfe let slip at the Golden Guitar Awards in April that he and Ally were expecting their second child. Following the dual Golden Guitar wins, Wolfe took to social media to share the unusual way the couple found out they were expecting a girl in his coined “redneck gender reveal.”

Matilda was born the same week of family tragedy, as the Wolfe Brothers announced on October 20 via social media the unexpected passing on their beloved mother, Lee Wolfe.

Lead singer, Nick Wolfe wrote, “Late on Monday night we lost our beautiful Mum Lee. Though completely unexpected, she looked peaceful, asleep in our family home at Neika.”

Tom added, “The rock of our family, the light of our lives. Mum, Mrs Wolfe, Aunty Lee Lee, Nan Nan… we love ya so much xx.”

The Wolfe Brothers management also advised the duo would not be attending their scheduled appearance at the Mandurah Country Music Festival last weekend and have cancelled three upcoming Sydney shows, including Etamogah Hotel, Kellyville Ridge (October 28), Pittwater RSL Club, Mona Vale (October 29) and The Beershed, Campbelltown (October 30).

“We are all shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of a wonderful woman Lee Wolfe,” said a spokesperson from The Wolfe Brothers management. “The boys would like to thank all those who have sent kind messages of condolences and also thank their fans for accepting that these shows need to be cancelled. We appreciate everyone’s understanding at this very difficult time for the boys.”
