Sounds Australia will present a workshop at this year's Tamworth Country Music Festival for artists, songwriters, and other members of the country music industry.

The news arrives after last year’s inaugural workshop found great success. Sounds Australia is presenting Gettin’ Gone: A Country Music Export Workshop at the Tamworth Community Centre at 9:30 am on Thursday, 23 January.

As a press release states (and we all know), country music has seen a massive increase in popularity over the last five years, becoming one of the most popular music genres in the world. No longer restricted only to artists living in Nashville, Australian country music has made tremendous gains, too.

Now, Australian country artists have more opportunities for growth in the international market than ever. However, while the doors have opened for more and more burgeoning musicians, there are also new challenges, such as shifting trends, the cost of living, and musical competition.

Looking to help Australian artists, Glenny G and Sounds Australia’s Dom Alessio will host the workshop that will help put artists, songwriters, and industry professionals in a better position to grow internationally.

The workshop will also host a panel of experts in the country music space who will offer realistic stories on what it takes to rise through the ranks of country music as an Australian artist. The expert panellists include Catherine Britt, Countrytown’s Megan Hopkins, ABC Music’s Natalie Waller, and Strut Entertainment’s Samantha Pickard. Glenny G will moderate the panel.
