Sierra is currently on tour in Australia.
After fun-filled appearances on ABC Radio National Breakfast and ABC 774's The Friday Revue and a sold-out Sydney show on Friday, and stunning performances at Out On The Weekend on Saturday and in Canberra on Sunday, Sierra Ferrell has announced additional shows in both Melbourne and Sydney.
The second Melbourne show will take place on Monday October 17 at the Brunswick Ballroom, to follow the already sold-out Melbourne show at the Thornbury Theatre this Thursday. The second Sydney show, which follows her sold out show on Friday night, will take place on Thursday October 20, again at the Great Club in Marrickville.
Ferrell has also dropped a new single Silver Dollar (Alternative Version). This is the third such alternative version released; they all offer listeners a glimpse of what the initial studio recordings sounded like during the process of making her critically lauded album.
Ferrell's tour - which follows a big win at the Americana Awards in Nashville recently - continues in Brisbane on Tuesday, with a sold-out Eltham (NSW) show, the sold-out Melbourne show, a sold-out Meeniyan show and Adelaide to follow, in addition to the new shows.
Her October Australian visit will cap off a banner year for the artist that includes winning ‘Emerging Act of the Year’ at the 2022 Americana Music Association’s Honors & Awards, which took place last week at Nashville’s storied Ryman Auditorium. Prior to her win, she and her band charmed the crowd with a rousing performance of At the End of the Rainbow.

“Honestly, I was totally floored to win the Americana Music Association’s Emerging Act of the Year award,” she marvelled. “This is such an honour for both me and my band. Just performing at the ceremony itself was a big deal for me. Then to win and be recognized in front of so many friends and true musical legends made for such a magical evening at the Mother Church of Country Music. I’ll never forget it."
Jed Hilly, Executive Director of the Americana Music Association, has long been a champion of Ferrell’s music. After her win, he commented, "Sierra embodies the free spirit of an Americana artist and her win reflects the bright future of our community."
In the year since her Rounder debut Long Time Coming was released, Ferrell has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments that includes sold-out tours of the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom, and collaborations with artists including Billy Strings, The Black Keys, Diplo, Early James, Shakey Graves, Ray LaMontagne, and Old Crow Medicine Show. Her song In Dreams, a long-time fan favourite, has recently become a viral sensation on TikTok and across numerous streaming platforms.
