Queensland’s Lasso Country Music Festival is embarking on its biggest edition to date, today announcing an epic line-up featuring its first-ever international headliner.

American breakout country star Drake Milligan will headline this year’s edition of Lasso Country Music Festival as the event continues its ascent as one of Australia’s most exciting independent, must-attend festivals.

Taking place on Saturday, 11 July, at the Distillery Road Market in Eagleby, Lasso will warm up patrons as they experience Queensland winter.

Milligan’s headline appearance marks not only a pivotal moment for the festival, but also for the Texas-raised artist’s career. One of country music’s most talked-about new voices, Milligan has received praise for his traditional influences, epic live performances, and crossover appeal. He arrives in Australia following the release of his latest single, How Much Beer, out today.

His debut album, Dallas / Fort Worth, released in 2022, reached #5 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart – multiple singles also topped the charts in the US, Canada, and Australia.

Joining Milligan at Lasso 2026 is a diverse, carefully curated roster of Australian talent. Continuing its commitment to local country music, festival organisers have booked The Wet Whistles, Austin Mackay, Tyla Rodrigues, Briana Dinsdale, Michael Honan, Jaydin Shingleton, Jay Santilli, Riley Ziskey, Beau Shearer, and Phoebe Rose.

With such an impressive line-up of rising stars and emerging talent, Lasso is highlighting the next generation of country music talent.

Pre-sale tickets will be available at 10 am local time on Monday, 19 January, followed by the general sale at 11 am local time on Tuesday, 20 January. Fans who sign up via The Loop on the Lasso website can access pre-sale tickets.

You can find ticketing information on the Oztix and Lasso Country Music Festival websites.

The 2026 edition of Lasso Country Music Festival, held across two stages, will include an outdoor main stage and an indoor, free-entry acoustic stage. In addition to music, festivalgoers will enjoy great food and drinks, artisan markets, official merchandise, and artist signing sessions.

“I’m incredibly proud that we get to host Drake Milligan at Lasso,” commented Festival Director Ashlyn Dinsdale. “We started this festival with the goal of delivering fresh, modern line-ups while creating real opportunities for emerging artists. Having Drake headline in 2026 not only fulfils that vision, it genuinely exceeds what we imagined was possible at this stage of the festival’s journey.”
