Australian indie pop singer-songwriter Amy Shark has released her latest single, Love Songs Ain’t For Us – and she’s teamed up with our very own Keith Urban and bona fide superstar Ed Sheeran.
Love Songs Ain’t For Us was co-written by Ed Sheeran and is the next single off Shark's upcoming sophomore album, Cry Forever. She revealed the tracklist for Cry Forever in December last year, which included the title of the new song and its feature artist, Urban.
Amy says, “Just before we started the writing session, Ed asked me if I wrote songs about my man, I told him I do, but love songs aren’t really for us. He then smiled and said, ‘okay, that’s what we’ll do then.’ I don’t know why I struggle to write straight forward love songs, the second they start sounding too lovely and gushy I tend to follow it up with a lyric that's semi sad or confronting. This song is as loved up as you’ll get from me and I love it.”
Love Songs Ain’t For Us is the fourth single off the album, following Everybody Rise, All The Lies About Me and C’MON with Travis Barker last year.

Working with other artists is no foreign concept to Urban, who is known for his collaborations with many artists in all fields of music, including his latest single, One Too Many with Pink. Previously, he has teamed up with Brad Paisley, Pitbull, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and on the award-winning single The Fighter with Carrie Underwood.
Sheeran has also collaborated with many artists over the years. His No.6 Collaborations Project studio album, included tracks with 50 Cent, Cardi B, Chris Stapleton, Bruno Mars as well as the smash hit, I Don’t Care with Justin Bieber. He also released Perfect Duet with Beyonce in 2017, and co-wrote Tip Of My Tongue, Kenny Chesney’s 2019 country single.
Cry Forever will be released on April 30, 2021 and is available for pre-order now.
