For organiser, Aidan McLaren, announcing the second annual festival is the culmination of much hard work from the event team.

“We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s line-up,” McLaren said. “When we first dreamed up the concept of Goulburn Valley Country Festivalwe had a list of acts we’d love to one day play at the event, and that listed included Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers and Travis Collins. The fact they are all playing in our second year is incredible for us.”

He added, “We’ve always wanted the event to showcase the best country music in Australia and also celebrate how diverse the country genres are. We feel that this year’s line-up is a great reflection of that. Plus, to have our first ever international artist in the incredible Kaylee Bell is super exciting too. What an amazing day it’s going to be.”

The 2023 event is evolving into exactly what the team dreamed when they first envisioned Goulburn Valley Country Festival

“The festival was always meant to be a celebration of all things country, and we’re so excited to be adding even more non-musical elements to the festival this year,” said McLaren. “We wanted to create an event that encompasses the entire country experience – from the music, the rides, to the food trucks, to the market stalls, and experiences and so much more. Of course, we love the music, but for lovers of country, there really will be something for everyone at Goulburn Valley Country FestivalIt’s a family day out for all ages, filled with plenty of fun, good times, and all things country. We want to bring the Goulburn Valley region together, and to create an incredible festival atmosphere for the local community.”

Bringing in the Freestyle Motocross (FMX) showcase is an exciting addition in 2023.

“When we saw the guys perform, we knew they’d be perfect,” said McLaren. “They put on an incredible show as Australia’s only ATV and UTV freestyle motocross team and will be bringing their world-class show to Shepparton. We want to keep adding new and exciting elements to the festival and felt like this would be an amazing addition. They’ll be performing throughout the day – get ready for a mind-blowing show!”

This year will also see the inclusion of a woodchopping competition, hosted by the Central Victorian Axemen’s Association.

The Goulburn Valley Local Country Showcase also returns in 2023.

“The local country music community really got behind our first-ever showcase and it was a no-brainer to have it back again,” said McLaren. “So many incredible artists applied, and it made us realise how much incredible talent is in the Goulburn Valley region, particularly when it comes to country music. We knew we wanted to celebrate this as much as possible, and the Local Country Showcase will be an incredible avenue for the local community to get involved with the festival. To give musicians in the region a chance to play on the same stage as Kasey Chambers and Troy Cassar-Daley is a really special opportunity and we’re proud to launch the showcase again in 2023.”

Details on the Goulburn Valley Local Country Showcase will be announced soon.
