Josh Arnold, Ella Powell & Benny Elder: Highlights From This Week’s ‘Grass Roots'

Every week, ABC Country's Grass Roots program shines a light on the best independently released Australian country content. Selected from the hundreds of new tracks submitted, the one-hour program is now available on demand as well as premiering each Monday at 9pm on ABC Country, showing the health of Aussie country music across all its sub-genres. Josh Arnold – Shot Down NT Town

Golden Guitar winner Josh Arnold marks a return to the darker edges of country with his new single Shot Down NT Town. The Northern Territory is an untamed land that holds many secrets, and this song captures the mystery and darkness perfectly.

Ella Powell – Country Love

Produced by Shane Nicholson and Matt Fell, Country Love is the sun-drenched new single from this rising talent on the Aussie country scene. Ella Powell has been consistently releasing great tunes over the past couple of years. Her songs tell great stories and are classy and catchy. She’s definitely one to watch!

Benny Elder – Coffee Don’t Taste The Same

The Tassie-born and now Brisbane-based singer-songwriter discovered his love for music at just 12 years old, and has taken a leap of faith by ditching the corporate world to follow his musical dreams. Coffee Don't Taste The Same is the next single lifted from Benny Elder’s forthcoming debut album, For Now And Until Then, out February 23.
