Jon Pardi Receives Grand Ole Opry Invite While Onstage At Stagecoach

Alan Jackson surprised Jon Pardi with an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry.

Pardi was onstage during the first night of Stagecoach Festival when personality Guy Fieri came out and announced, "Our good friend from Nashville, Tennessee, has a message for you."

Jackson’s recorded message then appeared on screen behind the stage. He wears sunglasses, white hat and denim jacket with Aztec embroidery. In his hands, sits an acoustic guitar.

“I’ve been appreciating your music ever since you were touring with me a few years ago,” Jackson said, “and so I get the honour to invite you in front of all your Stagecoach friends out there to be the first native of California to become an official member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

“I didn’t see this one coming,” a visibly emotional Pardi told the crowd, “I moved to Nashville chasing a dream at 22 years old and now I'm here. I love you guys and I love country music. Thank you, everybody. This is an amazing night. I'll never forget it. I guess if you want to come visit Tennessee, I'll see you at the Grand Ole Opry now.”

Pardi will become the 225th member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Additionally, he and The War And Treaty were among the artists who helped the Grand Ole Opry unveil a new stage on February 4 – its first major set change in more than two decades.

Pardi’s latest album was released in September 2022. Mr. Saturday Night was produced by Bart Butler, Ryan Gore and Pardi, the same team behind the boards of his critically acclaimed third studio release, Heartache Medication. 

Heartache Medication peaked at #17 on the ARIA Australia Digital Albums Chart and followed his first two studio albums Write You A Song (2014) and California Sunrise (2016).

Earlier this year, Pardi and his wife Summer welcomed the birth of their first child, a girl named Presley Fawn Pardi. While awaiting her birth, Pardi revealed he was working on a Christmas album. He was set to record the festive project in early February, with release in late 2023.
