Jimmie Allen Countersues His Alleged Sexual Assault Accusers

Jimmie Allen is countersuing two women who came forward with allegations that he sexually assaulted them, Billboard reports. The Down Home singer is suing one woman for defamation and the other for stealing his mobile phone. Both women are represented by the attorney Elizabeth Fegan.

In Allen’s lawsuit, he claims that the relationship with Jane Doe 1 – a woman who worked as his former manager – was sexually consensual and was “initiated by both Allen and Doe”. She’s being sued for defamation.

In response to Jane Doe 2’s allegations, Allen admitted to having unprotected sex and claimed that she gave him permission to record their encounter.

He accused Jane Doe 2 of taking his phone. After he said he offered to delete the video from the phone, his accuser reportedly refused to return the phone.

Allen has subsequently accused Jane Doe 2 of “conversion”, a legal term similar to theft. “By taking his camera phone without permission, Jane Doe 2 wrongfully exerted a distinct act of dominion over Allen’s personal property,” Allen’s lawyers wrote in the lawsuit.

In May, Jane Doe 1, Allen’s former manager, accused him of alleged assault and sexual abuse. She sued Allen and her former employer, Wide Open Music, and Ash Bowers, its founder, who she claims terminated her after she told them about the alleged abuse (Wide Open Music also dropped Allen at the time).

The alleged abuse took place over a period of 18 months. In the lawsuit, Allen’s former manager recalled multiple incidents when he allegedly groped and raped her.

Since the allegations came to light, Jimmie Allen has been dropped from his record label, BBR Music Group. Allen denied the allegations.

In June, Jane Doe 2 came forward and alleged that Jimmie Allen sexually assaulted her in a hotel room and filmed the encounter without her consent, per a Variety report. Jane Doe 2 sued Allen for battery, assault, invasion of privacy and emotional distress.

Jimmie Allen’s attorney didn’t immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment about the new allegations.

Allen himself denied the allegations in a formal statement, writing shortly after Jane Doe 1’s lawsuit emerged: “It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever.”
