Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jenny Mitchell has unveiled the heartfelt live video for Wives Who Wait, just as she prepares to hit the stage for the first night of her much-anticipated Forest House Album Tour, kicking off tomorrow in Canberra.
Filmed by Hōnetana Productions and supported by NZ On Air, the video offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into life on the road, capturing the raw energy of Mitchell’s live performances and highlighting the undeniable chemistry between her and her band. With its stripped-back beauty, the video is a fitting tribute to the quiet strength of those who wait behind the scenes and a perfect teaser for what fans can expect on tour.
The Forest House Tour will see the NZ Best Country Artist winner and two-time Golden Guitar nominee make stops in Bathurst, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Central Coast, and Newcastle, before wrapping up ahead of her performance at Gympie Music Muster in August.
Her fourth studio album Forest House is out now and was created alongside renowned producer Matt Fell. Recorded in a makeshift studio set up in a house in rural New Zealand, the 12-track record is Mitchell’s most personal to date. The album includes singles Where The Water’s Cold, Square & Plain, Heart Like a House, and Sister which features her real-life siblings, The Mitchell Twins.
Jenny’s recent momentum is hard to ignore. Over the past year, she’s toured with Adam Harvey, performed at Groundwater Country Music Festival, and represented Australia at AmericanaFest in Nashville, following a songwriting scholarship through the Australian Academy of Country Music. More recently, she’s been a special guest on Kasey Chambers' national tour, further cementing her place as one of the most exciting voices in modern folk-country.
Originally from Gore, New Zealand, Mitchell blends country roots with folk and Americana influences to craft stories that feel timeless yet deeply personal. With a growing fanbase across Australia and New Zealand, Mitchell’s star continues to rise and this tour is set to be another major milestone in a career that’s only just hitting its stride.
