Jelly Roll Reveals Deluxe Edition Of 'Beautifully Broken'

Surprise! Jelly Roll has shared the deluxe edition of his brand-new album, Beautifully Broken.

Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces) is streaming now and contains six new tracks. As you know, the original version of the album already features 22 tracks and lasts over an hour. The deluxe edition, with its extra tracks, lasts for an hour and 23 minutes.

Jelly Roll announced the surprise release of the deluxe album on social media just hours ago, revealing the new tracklist and album cover.

“I’d like you all to meet Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces), the deluxe that adds 5 more songs,” he wrote alongside the photos. “The idea behind this artwork comes from a Japanese practice called kintsugi. The idea is that if something breaks, and it’s worth fixing, you fix it by filling in the cracks with gold. I honestly don’t think anything personifies this record better.”

While Jelly Roll said the deluxe edition features five new songs, it actually has six—all of which are collaborations, some country and some with artists from other genres.

Added to the end of the original album’s tracklist, the deluxe begins with Take A Bow (featuring pop singer Halsey), Don’t Want To (featuring Keith Urban), Devil Down (featuring ERNEST), Really Gone (featuring Russ), Past Yesterday (featuring Skylar Grey), and Lonely Road (featuring mgk), which we’ve heard before and is a welcome addition.

In a review of Beautifully Broken for Countrytown, Stephen Green noted that “every second of his vocal performance is drenched in passion and authenticity. Every word of his lyrics drips with emotion and grace.

“This is a man who has been through the wringer and has a story to tell. The traditional fairytale would say that he’s made it through to the other side, but the attraction of Jelly is that he’s open about this just being another part of a journey.”
