A Jelly Roll fan has revealed that the singer offered to help pay for her college tuition at his free show at Skydeck in Nashville in mid-June, describing his gesture as a “miracle.”
On 17 June, Jelly Roll performed from the rooftop venue and promised 18-year-old Joy Gadalla, “We will help you get through school.”
Watching in the audience, Gadalla held up a sign on her phone that read, “Please pay my tuition,” which Jelly Roll saw from the stage.
Pointing at Gadalla, he said, “I’m going to give you the opportunity to change your life right here on this date.”
In an interview with WKRN, Gadalla remarked that she was “in shock” after Jelly Roll offered to help get her through college.
“I was crying, I was stressing, I took a moment to breath and pray, and I knew that everything was going to be okay,” Gadalla said. “I knew God was going to take care of everything.”

Gadalla revealed that Jelly Roll’s management has been in touch since that fateful day. Official details of how much he’ll be able to help her are currently unclear, but we’ll update this article if we hear more.
Gadalla isn’t the only one who’s received life-changing support from the Need A Favor singer. Last June, Jelly Roll gave a group of teenagers working at Whataburger a $1,000 tip.
Back in April, the singer revealed that he’d do “anything he can” for independent artists.
Explaining why he chose Alexandra Kay as his support act, he said, “Because she’s doing it independent, it was the only one that we [Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie XO] totally agreed on together,” he said. “We were like, ‘Yo, her. Take the independent girl.’”
Jelly Roll reminisced on his time as an unsigned musician, saying, “Dude, I never got a good look when I was independent.”
In other Jelly Roll news, he and his wife, Bunnie XO, announced their plans to have a baby in 2026.
“My wife and I are talking about having a baby,” Jelly Roll said.
The sudden and unexpected news came out in response to the singer discussing his aspirations for a healthier lifestyle. He continued, “…and it really made me realise at almost forty, I was like, it means I gotta live until at least sixty. I gotta see this kid into college.”
