James Johnston’s 'WHERE YOU'LL FIND ME' Named Top Selling Aussie Country Album of 2025

James Johnston has taken out one of Australian country music’s biggest honours, with Where You’ll Find Me crowned the top-selling local country album of 2025 ahead of the 54th Golden Guitar Awards.

James Johnston has officially claimed a major win, with his second album WHERE YOU’LL FIND ME named the Top Selling Australian Country Album of the Year for 2025.

The award, presented by Tamworth Regional Council in partnership with the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), recognises commercial success and the announcement confirms Johnston as the recipient of the 2026 Golden Guitar Award in the category, following the release of ARIA Charts data covering sales from January 1 to December 31, 2025.

Across 16 tracks, the album leans into themes of family, friendship and a deep love of country life, capturing the everyday moments that resonate with Johnston’s growing audience.

The record was created in collaboration with Morgan Evans and produced by Jared Adlam and Dan Pellarin, helping shape an album that connected strongly with listeners across Australia.

The remaining top five best-selling Australian country albums of the year were Hayley Jensen’s Country Soul, Brad Cox’s Endemic Intelligence In Multiple Dimensions, The Wolfe Brothers’ Australian Made and Tom Curtain’s Here’s to You. All four albums have also earned nominations in their respective Golden Guitar categories and will be in the running on awards night.

Toyota Golden Guitar Awards Executive Producer Peter Ross said the recognition was well earned. “The announcement of James Johnston as the winner of the 2026 Golden Guitar Award for Top Selling Australian Country Album of the Year is very well deserved.”

“Audiences watching the Toyota Golden Guitar Awards, at the venue or via the live stream, will be treated to a special performance by James, who will be presented with his award during the event.”

The Toyota 54th Golden Guitar Awards will take place live on Saturday, January 24 from the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, with a livestream available via the festival website and Facebook page.
