James Johnston has turned to social media to find two lead actors for his next music video.
While no acting experience is required, the ideal candidates must be between 17 and 20 years of age and be able to drive a manual car. The music video is being shot on April 16 in Warwick, South East Queensland.
Johnston shared on social media, “I was just chatting to my manager and we’re filming a new video clip for a song I’ve been working on. And we need two lead actors for this video clip. We need a guy and a girl around the age of 17, 18, 19 to play the two main characters in this video clip.
“I was just gonna hire a couple of people but then I thought why not jump on social media and maybe I could find the perfect person right here. If that sounds like something you’d be keen to be a part of or maybe you know somebody, tag them, and let’s see if we can make this happen.”

It’s been a stellar year for Johnston who recently took home the ‘Country Award’ at the Queensland Music Awards. In January he was awarded ‘New Talent of the Year’ and ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’ with Kaylee Bell at the 2023 Golden Guitar Awards from his first ever nominations.
His debut country single, RAISED LIKE THAT, was also certified Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). He is the first independent country artist to achieve this in 21 years.
The title of the new song is currently unknown but will follow his current single GOT IT GOOD, which peaked at #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. His previous singles RAISED LIKE THAT, SMALL TOWN, COUNTRY BOYS and SAME SONGS with Kaylee Bell also all reached the top of the chart.
