Imogen Clark & Casey Barnes Kick Off This Year’s AFL Season

Imogen Clark and Casey Barnes will help kick off this year’s Australian Rules Football (AFL) season with performances at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) this Saturday.

Clark captioned, “The band and I have our first gig in 3 months this week and it’s at the bloody Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) (!!!!), free and open to all! And the best thing about gigs with the AFL is that they don’t get cancelled, so we’ll see you there on Saturday morning. We are playing on the festival stage in Yarra Park, near MCG Gate 2 at 11.50am - 12.30pm, might even be giving a couple of new songs their first live run… See you there, #Melbourne!”

Barnes will take the Yarra Park stage from 12.50 - 1.25pm. The AFL recently selected Barnes’ Light It Up, the title track off his latest album, as their promo song for the 2022 season.

The Mik Marks and Field, See & Mason will also perform before the Geelong Cats take on the Essendon Bombers. For more information, go here.

Round 1 of the AFL 2022 season starts Wednesday, March 16 with a rematch of the 2021 Grand Final between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs.
