Country star Maren Morris came out as bisexual in a Pride Month post to Instagram yesterday (June 10).
“happy to be the B in LGBTQ+,” her post read. “happy pride.”
The ‘B’ in LGBTQ+ stands for bisexual, and Morris’ post included photos of her waving a pride flag during her concert in Phoenix, Arizona.

Her announcement was met with encouragement from fans, with many commenting things like, “Thanks for representing!!! It's hard to be the B, and having public representation helps us all,” “we love a bi queen,” and “oh maren, i’m so god damn proud of you.”
The My Church singer has always been an outspoken ally for the queer community, even receiving GLAAD’s Excellence in Media Award last year for promoting acceptance of LGBTQ+ people.
“I'm not brave... making the right decision shouldn't take bravery or courage. It shouldn't take heroic effort to want basic human rights for everybody," Morris said in her acceptance speech. "Leaving your house knowing that you can face violence, just for being who you are... that is bravery. This community stood up for me and made me feel safe when I felt alone, and I'll never be able to repay them, but I hope I get to spend the rest of my life and career settling up."
Morris was also on the cover of Billboard’s Pride Issue last year, alongside drag stars Eureka O’Hara, Landon Cider, Sasha Colby and Symone.
Back in September, Morris revealed that she was planning to leave country music. She cited the sociopolitical divide between country music artists and their fans, which she said has become a miserable hurdle that began “after the Trump years.”
