Morgan Evans and Ashley Cooke laugh over their differing pronunciations and words for common items in a new video that has so far amassed over 1.3 million views on social media.
As they prepare to hit the road with Brett Young, the soon-to-be tour mates joined together to play a game in an effort to get to know each other a little bit more. The video sees the Australia-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter and the up-and-comer, who hails from Florida, comparing common items such as thongs, car parks, soft drink and herb.
For example, when Cooke refers to a “flip-flop”, Evans calls it a “thong”.
She laughs, “No, that’s underwear.”
He replies, “We say g-string.”
Cooke even tries her hand at a pretty convincing Australian accent with “car park” too.

The video has received over 100k likes on TikTok and a further 10k on Instagram as well as numerous comments from others who have started the discussion of what people in other countries call the items such as “pop” and “fizzy drink” instead of soft drink/soda.
Others questioned if the two are dating, with Cooke quick to shut down the speculation. “Dang guys, these comments – we’re just touring together. Easyyy,” she replied.
Evans and Cooke join Young on his 17-city tour titled Brett Young: 5 Tour 3, 2, 1. It kicks off on March 30 in Columbus, Ohio and wraps on May 20 in Los Angeles, California. More information and ticket sales can be found via brettyoungmusic.com.
Evans recently released On My Own. Written by Evans alongside Zach Kale, Geoff Warburton and producer Chris DeStefano, the song follows his viral single Over For You, his most personal song to date about his divorce from Kelsea Ballerini.
“This song is about the first moment a broken heart changes perspective, from looking back, to looking forward,” Evans explained. “To me, it feels like the first light of a sunrise peeking over a horizon. I hope it puts a smile on your face today.”
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Cooke dropped the wedding version of her duet with Young, Never Til Now. The song, which Cooke co-write with Matt Roy, was originally released in 2022 and garnered viral success across TikTok and streaming platforms.
When Young heard it through Jimmy Robbins, he instantly fell in love with the love song. They arranged for him to jump on a duet version where he gives the male perspective of the chance encounter in the bar. The new rendition finds Young just as smitten as Cooke; after going through a torrid time, he too hadn't expected to discover love.
Cooke has also collaborated with Roman Alexander, Jimmie Allen and Derek Austin.
